Advanced User Experience & Flexible Layout

  • Composite Screens: Groundbreaking support for mixed screen types allows list and form screen components to display together on a single screen. Composite screens now support varied elements—such as a quote, a chart, and a list of top news stories—all on a single screen. A composite screen might show an account overview featuring summary information, key contacts, and recent activities. Composites retrieve and render asynchronously, maximizing performance and allowing interaction before all the data on a screen displays.
  • Flexible Form Screen Alignment: In addition to right, left, and center alignment, you can now arrange form elements side by side. By combining these alignment options with horizontal and vertical padding, you can place images, controls, and composite screens anywhere on form screens and within the exploded portion of lists.
  • Cover Flow-Style Image Display: Pyxis Mobile offers this slick and easy way to swipe through a collection of contact portraits, headline photos, product images, logos, or any visual content. Selecting from the cover flow brings up details on that item. Available for both BlackBerry and iPhone devices.
  • Stylistic Upgrades: A collection of style enhancements take existing features farther:
    • Now you can apply text and color styles to labels and data independently on form fields, so that the data name can have one color and style, and the data itself can have another
    • All styles now support background and border colors, allow squared and rounded borders, and can set discrete padding around all controls
    • Buttons, drop-downs, and tabs now support gradients so that you can paint both the selected and non-selected elements with more creative colors, images, and branding
    • Login screens boast a finer alignment and padding of the user name and password boxes and can include a checkbox for revealing a password as it's typed
    • Hint text throughout the application is now italicized and lightened
  • Auto-Suggest Lookup Fields: Lookup fields with as-you-type matches, a powerful new control, allows real-time interactive searching and data selection.
